A blog about all and nothing: photography, travelling and more
Today is Halloween. Originally a remembrance day for all the faithful departed, nowadays a money-making event. Just like all major Holidays.
This is a reason why I have mixed feelings about Halloween. We also have a similar day (in meaning) in my country, but people don’t go out dressed as zombies and drink punch which looks like blood. They might go to a church, light up a candle for the dead, say a prayer and go home. No after party.
Same thing happened with Christmas, Easter… these are no longer occasions to spend time with the family, try to clear our souls from negative thoughts and be more caring and good, but opportunities to run like fools through shops and give away money.
Having fun is ok, giving and receiving gifts is also not that bad… but shouldn’t it be a little bit more to it?
